How To Use Courage To Overcome


To really know your true courage, you have to be able to face your biggest fears. You can let your fears limit you, or you can decide that you want to grow beyond them. It’s natural to feel afraid and to worry about how things might turn out. Because we all feel fear and doubt, it’s incredibly important that we share these thoughts and emotions with others.

If you feel like your confidence is low and you’re not sure if you have the courage to overcome your fears…try this

  1. Think of a time that you felt afraid, or timid, but decided to go for it.
  2. Think about what it felt like to overcome it.
  3. Now, think about something that you’re currently facing that creates some fear or anxiety. Make sure you think about exactly what you’re feeling afraid of.
  4. Remind yourself that you have the skills to overcome. You have used them before and you will use them again.

Remember, the bigger the challenge…the greater the reward. You can do anything you put your mind to.

    This 4-step process instantly reminded me of a time in college when I was the first to do a trust fall from a 9 foot tree stand. I remember telling myself – “do it now, do it first, don’t think, you’re friends will not let you fall.” Going through these four steps in my head has given me an afternoon jolt, and a smile too.
