I will be posting videos, pictures and articles featuring CrossFitters that you can learn from. If I see something positive, negative, or share-worthy, I’ll break down the situation and give you some tips so that you can improve your mental game. These posts will be categorized under the tag “learn from the athlete” so that you can find them at anytime.
- Lucas Parker competed at the CrossFit Games last weekend and he is the type of athlete that many try to emulate. He has a great presence and his mental approach to training and life are admirable.
- Take a look at the video below and check out his BLR (big lift routine) as he sets up to Snatch. He is able to control his emotional-energy by sitting down and staying calm between his lifts (when you have to do a “ladder style event”. He is able to get fired-up a few seconds before the lift, by using certain cues and sticking to his routine. Watch the clip below to see how he gets his hands and feet set. Watch how he builds intensity with noises and his breathing. Lucas is a badass, and is a great example of how to get prepped for a WOD or lift.
- Make sure you have an approach and routine that works for you. To find out more about the most important things to focus on before you attempt a big lift, check out The Mental Edge Program, where I break it down for you.
