What Do Others Say About You?

We all use feedback to see where we are, where we want to go and to measure our progress. If you want to grow as an athlete and as a person you’ll want to try this drill. Give it a shot tomorrow, or over a few days and see what you learn.

  • Make a list of people’s remarks about you. Any remark that concerns you, or your behavior…write it down. Make a list in your cell phone or simply carry around a small notebook or piece of paper with you. At the end of the day, review the list and decide if each comment is positive or negative.

Do these comments make you feel good? Bad? Are the people you surround yourself with lifting you up? Do you want to change anything about the way others perceive you and your actions? Are you being the type of athlete and person that you think you are?

*Try this in different settings, over a few different days if you want more feedback about what people say about you and how their comments affect you
