When you are competing in WODs or in an event, you may find yourself chasing down someone who is just in front of you. A lot of athletes actually prefer to have another competitor in front of them to help them pace a workout and to push themselves even harder.
- When you are ready to pass by your competitors, don’t simply move by them…instead, surge past them with authority
- Make them see that you are moving so well, that they start second guessing whether they will even be able to keep up with you or catch you
- You need to be smart about when you use your “mini-surges” during a WOD, and one of the best times to use one is when you are about to pass your competition
