If you have been reading MentalityWOD.com you know that I do not believe anger is a helpful or constructive emotion. It really doesn’t bring out anything good in your performance or life.

If you are angry during a WOD or competition, I believe you are giving up your power and taking away from your purpose and focus. But, I do think there is something to be said about “playing angry”. It is a different mentality, and it can be very productive. Being angry or getting angry at someone, the situation or your environment, places your focus on something that you probably can’t control.

  • Playing angry means you are fired up and tackling the WOD full steam ahead. You are getting after it because you are playing with strong emotions, and a lot of intensity.

Playing angry is better than being angry.

Does that make sense?
