You don’t love training with people who are more advanced than you? You get negative and down on yourself when you compete against great athletes? You shy away from doing a WOD with those who might beat you?

Sports psychologist Jerry Lynch uses the term “competitor,” not “opponent,” to think about training with others, not against them.

  • Your competitors are there to bring out the best in you
  • You are lucky to train alongside people who want to be their best and are willing to push through challenging WODS
  • You can learn a lot from competing against people who are more advanced or more skilled than you. They have worked hard to become a great athlete and that’s something that should motivate you.
