Strength: Factor #5

Screen Shot 2014-04-13 at 10.48.47 AM is centered around 9 major factors. You need to develop these factors in order for you to get the most out of your training. If any of the factors are missing or weak, you will not be able to perform your best.

5. Strength

Your mental strength enables you to face challenges and persevere through them. You must be able to attack things that are tough for you and do things that are a bit uncomfortable. Actually, to be the best athlete you can be, you must embrace the uncomfortable. You should know that anything that is tough, different, or challenging, will help you get to the next level.

You don’t gain mental strength just by being tough and pushing through hard workouts. You don’t gain mental strength by training more and trying to do everything yourself. You improve your mental strength by facing your fears and expressing your weaknesses. It improves when you ask for help, try new things and put yourself out there.
