Glance at Competitors

(031) Glance at Competitors

When you’re in the midst of competing, you may be wondering where you stand in relation to others. A good time to glance at competitors is during transitions or when you are doing one steady movement for a while (like running or rowing).

Two other key tips when checking out your competition
– Make it a quick glance, not a long stare.
– When you’re done checking them out, bring your thoughts right back to what you need to do and your positive self-talk.

Picture of The Day:

Here is Kristan Clever during the final event at The OC Throwdown. She took one second, during her rowing, to glance at her competition. Then, she literally closed her eyes and kept rowing…hard. A perfect example of my suggestions.
What’s your technique when it comes to checking out your competition?
