When you’re in the midst of competing, you may be wondering where you stand in relation to others. A good time to glance at competitors is during transitions or when you are doing one steady movement for a while (like running or rowing).
Two other key tips when checking out your competition
– Make it a quick glance, not a long stare.
– When you’re done checking them out, bring your thoughts right back to what you need to do and your positive self-talk.
