If you want to increase your intensity, you are going to have to push through pain and discomfort. Many athletes, especially beginners, think their bodies don’t have any more to give when the reality is that’s not the case at all. When a WOD gets tough, your mind may begin telling you to stop or that you can’t do anymore. The better you are at controlling your thoughts, the better you’ll be at managing your intensity.
- In order to block out the discomfort you need to repeat positive mantras in your head.
You may even surprise yourself with what you are capable of when you use your thoughts to work for you instead of against you.
